Performance for camera culminating in six-channel unsynchronized video loop, 2013
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Room for Big Ideas
Six empty monitors are installed on a wall. Next to them, I post an open invitation for visitors to schedule an appointment with me for a one-on-one, site-specific performance in their home. I design simple actions and adjust them to address respondents’ individuality and the specific architecture of their living space. We perform these actions for the camera, with no audience in attendance. I make short, manipulated video loops from the footage and show them at the venue, filling the monitors over the course of the exhibit.
This piece can be presented as either a six-channel video installation using the exiting video pieces… or in it’s original interactive form, working with local participants, making new video pieces with them at their homes.
